Background
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has amended the Landfill Methane Regulation (LMR), with new requirements taking effect onJanuary 1, 2027. The amended 2027 regulation includes changes to monitoring, operational, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements for owners and operators of landfills and landfill gas collection and control systems (GCCS).
