Who is eligible for funds?
CORE provides vouchers for California purchasers and lessees for eligible equipment on a first-come, first-served basis. For FY-24-25, eligibility is limited to small businesses and public agencies due to budget constraints. If funding expands in future years, eligibility may broaden again.
Are there recent policy changes?
During the Board Meeting on November 21, 2024, CARB adopted changes to the CORE program to direct funding to small businesses and public agencies; graduate eligibility of mature zero-emission off-road terminal tractors used at freight facilities to scrap-and-replace funding programs; increase voucher amounts for the largest forklifts with a lift capacity of 54,001 pounds and greater; and streamline the equipment eligibility application process.
How does this program provide benefits to priority populations?
This program provides benefits to priority populations by offering a 10 percent enhancement of the base voucher amount for equipment deployed in these communities, making clean technology more accessible and financially viable. By replacing diesel-powered equipment and vehicles with zero-emission alternatives, the program reduces local air pollution, leading to improved air quality and public health benefits.
How do I access funds?
Eligible purchasers can access funds by working with an approved dealer to submit a voucher request for eligible zero-emission vehicle and equipment technology.
